Clemson Takes Care of Wofford at Home

CLEMSON, SC – Travis Etienne capped off two long early drives to send the defending champions on their way to a 59-14 win on Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers got started early as Amari Rodgers hauled in a 35-yard TD pass from Heisman Trophy candidate Trevor Lawrence to put Clemson up 7-0. Then Lyn-J Dixon ran in a touchdown from 19 yards before Etienne’s two long touchdown runs of 47 and 86 yards to make the score 28-0 with 14:48 left in the second quarter.
Clemson was not done as Tee Higgins caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Lawrence to extend the lead then Lawrence ran one in from 2 yards out to make the score 42-0 at halftime.
The Tigers amassed 702 total yards of offense, with 419 on the ground. Etienne had 9 rushes for 212 yards and two TDs while Trevor Lawrence finished 12-for-16 for 218 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The next game for the champs comes next Saturday night in Raleigh against the North Carolina State Wolfpack.
