Rockies Agree to Contracts

DENVER – The Colorado Rockies announced Friday that they have agreed to terms on three-year contracts with free-agent left-handed pitcher Jake McGee and free-agent right-handed pitcher Bryan Shaw.

· McGee, 31, re-signs with Colorado after two seasons, following his acquisition from Tampa Bay via trade along with right-handed pitcher German Márquez in exchange for outfielder Corey Dickerson and Minor League third baseman Kevin Padlo on Jan. 28, 2016. In 2017 with the Rockies, went 0-2 with three saves, a 3.61 ERA (57.1 IP, 23 ER), 16 walks and 58 strikeouts in 62 appearances.

· In his two seasons with Colorado, is 2-5 with 18 saves, a 4.11 ERA (103.0 IP, 47 ER), 32 walks and 96 strikeouts. Originally selected by Tampa Bay in the fifth round of the 2004 First-Year Player Draft, the San Jose, Calif., native is 23-16 with 44 saves, a 3.15 ERA (362.2 IP, 127 ER), 104 walks and 415 strikeouts across parts of eight seasons with Tampa Bay (2010-15) and Colorado (2016-17). · Shaw, 30, went 4-6 with three saves, a 3.52 ERA (76.2 IP, 30 ER), 22 walks and 73 strikeouts in 79 appearances for the Cleveland Indians last season. The 79 appearances were tied for the Major League lead, one season after he led the American League with 75 appearances in 2016. Since his debut in 2011, he has the third-most appearances in the Major Leagues with 475.

· In his five seasons pitched for Cleveland, went 21-22 with nine saves, a 3.11 ERA (358.2 IP, 124 ER), 119 walks and 333 strikeouts. Was acquired by the Indians from Arizona in a three-team trade on Dec. 11, 2012. Made his Major League debut on June 10, 2011 and pitched for two seasons in Arizona and went 2-6 with two saves, a 3.18 ERA (87.2 IP, 31 ER), 32 walks and 65 strikeouts.

· The Livermore, Calif., native has combined to go 23-28 with 11 saves, a 3.13 ERA (446.1 IP, 155 ER), 151 walks and 398 strikeouts over parts of seven seasons with Arizona (2011-12) and Cleveland (2013-17). Has made 19 career postseason appearances, and is 2-1 with a 2.45 ERA (22.0 IP, 6 ER), six walks and 22 strikeouts. In nine career games at Coors Field, is 0-1 with one save and a 0.00 ERA (7.0 IP, one unearned run), two walks and seven strikeouts. Shaw Stats

The Rockies will host a media availability at Coors Field this afternoon at 2:00 p.m. MST in the Coors Clubhouse, with access to the ballpark beginning at 12:30 p.m. MST. Media may access Coors Field through the Coors Clubhouse Entrance on the 20th Street side of the ballpark between Gate D and Gate E. In addition to McGee and Shaw, Rockies General Manager Jeff Bridich will be available to the media.

The Rockies currently have a full 40-man roster.
