Reds Drop Saturday Matinee

On a day where Tucker Barnhart was honored with his first gold glove, Greg Garcia and the St. Louis Cardinals spoiled the fun with a 6-1 victory over the Reds on Saturday.

Garcia smacked two home runs – a solo homer off Brandon Finnegan in the second, then a two-run homer off Finnegan in the fourth. The first multi-homer game of Garcia’s career came in support of winning pitcher Miles Mikolas, who twirled seven strong innings to put St. Louis a win away from a sweep.

With today’s loss the Reds’ have matched their worst start since 1931.
