MERRILLVILLE, IN – So what do you do if your the Michigan City Wolves and you’re coming off of a very disappointing loss against the Valpraiso Vikings at home? When a song needs a new tune, you add a new Lyric.

As in Lyric McFarrin.

The former Chesterton Trojan carved up the Pirate defense for 286 yards on 18 carries and the Wolves offense had some sweet music to the tune of 499 yards in a 42-21 conference win on Friday night.

After throwing an interception on his first pass attempt, Wolves QB Bryce Hayman got the scoring started in the first quarter by racing in from 48 yards out and a 7-0 Michigan City lead.

Then McFarrin took over.

Right before the end of the first, McFarrin gashed Merrillville for a 43-yard touchdown run to extend the lead to 14-0.

“I felt like I was in Pop Warner again,” McFarrin said. “When I was in Pop Warner, I looked just like that.”
