In a game that most people thought that was going to be a good game turned out to be a rout on Friday Fountain Central knocked Attica from the ranks of the unbeaten with a convincing 48-22 win. The game got off to a good start for the Ramblers (3-1) after blocking a punt from the Mustangs and converting 2 plays later on an Eli Fitzpatrick pass to Braydon Waggoner pass for a 16 yard Touchdown, Drew Sheridian converted the 2 point conversion to make the score 8-0 with 10:05 left in the 1st Quarter. After that it was all the Brandon Howell show of which he scored 4 times. On the ensuing Mustang drive it only took 2 plays for them to get on the scoreboard as Fountain Central’s Quarterback Nathaniel Biggs ran the ball down the left sideline for 75 yards to get the Mustangs within one at 8-7. After consecutive three and outs, the Mustangs blew the game wide open continuing to score at will led by Brandon Howell who scored the first of his 4 touchdowns on a 27-yard run. From there on out Fountain Central was able to do whatever they wanted when they wanted. After the game, Fountain Central’s Head Coach Raymond Jones commented, “It was a BIG win for us but we still have to take it one game at a time.”
