On the eve of Purdue starting it’s 131st Season of College Football, it is going to be an interesting start. For the 3rd time in 9 seasons Purdue is on it’s 3rd coach. The coach they got Jeff Brohm has been a popular person since he has been hired by AD Mike Bobinski in December of last year. Yes it is going to be hard at first but with the Boilermakers having  a young offensive line coming back and also having to replace most of the receiving corp, Brohm, does have the Conference’s leading passer coming back in David Blough who threw for over 3300 yards with 25 Touchdowns but did throw 21 Interceptions.

As for the rest of the offense he does have a stable of running backs coming back this year. Leading the backs will be Junior,  Markell Jones who rushed for 641 yards and 4 touchdowns. Besides Jones Brian Langford-Johnson comes back who rushed for 332 yards and 2 touchdowns. With the Offensive Line and Wide Receiving going to be young this year, it will be up to Junior TE Cole Herman to lead a bunch of young receivers of which some are JUCO Transfers. They are Isaac Zito and Terry Wright along with Notre Dame transfer, Corey Holmes who hasn’t arrived on campus along with a few Freshman receivers who will be vying for some time on the field.

The Bread and Butter of the team will be the Defense of which 8 starters will be coming back. Their led by Defensive Lineman Gelen Robinson and Eddy Wilson. Robinson is coming off a Team High 5 sacks last season along with 8 tackles for loss. Meanwhile, Wilson has 6 TFL and 5 sacks. As for the Linebacking Corps 3 of the 4 Linebackers coming back from last year’s 3-9 team. Leading the Boilermakers in the Linebacking area will be Markus Bailey, who had team high 97 tackles along with 6 TFL to go with 4 interceptions. Ja’Whaun Bailey returns as well for Purdue to go with Danny Ezechukwu who had 52 tackles last year. Concluding with the defense is the Defensive Backs which will be led by Da’wan Hunte who led the team with 6 passes broken up.
