Clifford Gone After Five Seasons

The Charlotte Hornets are looking for a new head coach.

According to ClutchPoints and other sources, Steve Clifford has been fired by the Hornets after five seasons as head coach of the team.

Clifford led the Hornets to a 36-46 record this season, finishing 10th in the East and missing the playoffs for a second straight season, the third time in five years.

He garnered a 196-214 record through his five-year stint at the helm, including a playoff appearance in 2016 but it did not prove enough to take this team to where ownership had envisioned.
