Chargers Hold Off Rams in Battle of L.A.

The Los Angeles Chargers won the battle of LA, knocking off the Rams in NFL Pre-Season action, 21-19 at the Coliseum Saturday.

The Chargers jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter and held on.
Phillip Rivers completed all six of his passes for 85 yards and a touchdown. Backup Cardale Jones was 9-13 for 74 yards and a score. Melvin Gordon ran for 36 yards and one TD for the Chargers.

 

Jared Goff connected on 5 of 8 for 56 yards, but threw a pick and fumbled the ball. Sean Mannion completed 16 of 29 tosses for 214 yards and a touchdown for the Rams. Malcom Brown had 9 carries for 44 yards and Pharoh Cooper caught five passes for 70 yards.
The LA Chargers are (1-2), while the LA Rams are (2-1).
Jared Goff may start on opening day for the Rams, but is he clearly better than Mannion?
