‘Cats Run Past Purdue to Open Season

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Sophomore Jeremy Larkin rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns and the Northwestern Wildcats defeated the Purdue Boilermakers 31-27 at Ross-Ade Stadium on Thursday night.

Senior QB Clayton Thorson went 16-of-26 for 172 yards while fellow QB TJ Green completed seven of his 11 passes for 63 yards.

WR Flynn Nagel led the team with 58 yards receiving while on the defensive side of the ball, Nate Hall had a team-leading 10 tackles including one for loss and an interception.

The Wildcats forced three interceptions in the first half and turned them into 21 of their 31 points.
