On the rarest of rare occasions, the San Francisco 49ers turned the ball over five times and still won. Jimmy Garoppolo threw a strike to Dante Pettis with 1:15 remaining and the 49ers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 24-20.
The 49ers are 3-0 for the first time since 1998 and also committed five turnovers and won for the first time since 1998 (11/6/98 vs Carolina).
Garoppolo finished the day 23-32 for 277 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Meanwhile, Mason Rudolph, in his Steelers debut was 14-27 for 174 yards, 2 touchdowns and one interception.
The 49ers now have a bye week before they welcome the Cleveland Browns on October 7th to Levi’s Stadium
