Wildcats Drop Blue Demons

EVANSTON, IL – It took them til 6:01 remained in the game, but the Northwestern Wildcats got their act together on the strength of a 25-0 second half run and raced all the way back to a 75-68 win over their crosstown rival DePaul Blue Demons on Saturday morning at the New Welsh-Ryan Arena.

For the seventh time this season, the ‘Cats put three players in double figures in Vic Law, Dererk Pardon, and AJ Turner. Turner led NU with a career-high 24 points.

The 25-0 run represented the longest run in a game for Northwestern since a 31-0 blitz against Rutgers in the 2017 Big Ten Men’s Basketball tournament.

The Wildcats have now won six out of the last eight meetings against DePaul — including
four-straight wins, the longest winning streak for Northwestern in the series.

DePaul’s Max Strus came into the game with a career 17.1 ppg average. Northwestern held him
to eight points, including no points in the second half – only the sixth time in his career he has
been held under 10 points.
